Do you experience the same thing? Where every time you go shopping, you buy something new and now your house is filled with useless crap that you don’t really need but can’t really get rid off because you paid for it!
I have been noticing consumerism recently, and how much we buy and spend each month on things that we think we actually want but don’t truly need.
The idea is that with the wake of social media advertising is all around us. Even when I am watching that cat play the piano an advert pops out of nowhere. And the second we enter that mall or shopping centre all those subconscious reminders come about.
We buy things we don’t need, and in the end they go for as no use. I think the first time I noticed this phenomenon was when I was moving into my new house. The amount of unused crap that I had to throw away truly left me thinking.
So I am going to give you this exercise to do every time you feel the urge to buy something, this has really worked out for me. Always ask yourself this question. If I buy this item, will I only use it one time or will it be very useful to me in the future? if you’re truly honest with yourself, this is going to save you a lot of money.
